Forged Truth is on a mission to produce high-quality fiction without the gimmicks, fiction that relies on its content from authors whose voices still have something to say about the human condition.
We favour writers with experience of life, over those with creative writing degrees, but for us, what really counts is the text not the hype. We maintain a close relationship with our local ‘Leicester Writers’ Club’, which nurtures so much talent in our area (one of our founders was the Club President in 2022/23).
Our first publication was ‘The Typewriterists’ by David N. Martin, which won the Norman King Award for Fiction 2025. It is available on Amazon.

Two more exciting publications from the same author are due to be published in July 2026:
Firstly, on 21st July, we will be publishing ‘Blight and Happiness’, David N. Martin’s ‘best of…’ collection of short stories. Spanning his thirty years as a published writer, these stories take us from the historical horrors of Ireland’s potato blight to the future of AI. This anthology features winners of the Words-with-Jam short story prize, as well as the regional sections of the Aurora Prize, the H.E. Bates Centennial Short Story Prize and a host of other prizes:

Secondly, on 31st July, ‘The Modern Type’, a sequel to ‘The Typewriterists’, which we think maybe David’s masterpiece (we’ve seen the beta-draft; it’s fantastic, it’s epic.) We have a preview of the cover here, and an extract for you to enjoy on our book preview page.

It looks fantastic! Now, we just need to stop the pesky author tinkering with the words before the end of July!
